Kunchacko Boban is the hero in the film ‘Kuttanadan Marpappa.’ Actress Shanthi Krishna appears in a crucial role in the film. Aditi Ravi is the female lead in the film. Many other actors like Innocent, Ramesh Pisharady, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Aju Varghese, Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Tiny Tom and many more, who can handle humour in Malayalam films, have acted in this film.

In one sentence, the film can be described as one which can be viewed and enjoyed with family during this vacation phase. A small film, which has comedy in it all through. The film has the right blend of romance, revenge and sentiments, which makes it a perfectly relishing one.
This is what the film is all about. There’s nothing beyond this to expect. Probably, the director of the film also would not claim more than this.

The newcomer director, Sreejith Vijayan, has directed the film ‘Kuttanadan Marpappa.’ Sreejith Vijayan is a famous cinematographer as well. He had done the cinematography of Salim Kumar’s popular film ‘Karutha Juthan.’

This film is shown to take place in Alappuzha, Kuttanad. To be precise, this film showcases the interesting events that take place in the lives of some common people of Karuvatta. This place is a Christian majority place. A haven with lakes, boats and coir.

Kunchacko Boban portrays the role of John, a photographer in the film. Shanthi Krishna has given a splendid performance as Mary, John’s mother. John and Mary are the central characters of the film.

The numerous light hearted scenes between the mother and son is one major attraction of the film.
The own photographer and videographer of Karuvatta, John, had a photo studio before which no longer exists now. This is because John had been ditched by many girls before. So, even when he concentrates on wedding photography, he is always unable to shoot or capture the ‘taalikettu’ custom of the marriage. His hands starts trembling at that moment.

He is a forsaken liver and never shoots wedding videos. He loves photography and takes up many projects however. The film portrays the interesting turn of events that take place in the life of John at different junctures.

When watching the film, it gives a feeling of watching a wedding video album in terms of the camera moves. There are beautiful scenery between shots in the film.
Reviewing the story of the film, it can be observed that this film is a collection of scattered sights. Though the plot weakens midway, the film resumes the plot towards the climax and ends with an unexpected surprise to the viewers.

The cinematography of the film is handled by Arvind Krishna and the editing is done by Sunil S. Pillai.

The music in the film is done by Rahul Raj. Although the songs and background score of the film are fine, many a times, the songs are felt to be woven into the plot. An extravaganza.
